that is onboard video, and it sucks for guild wars. i ran the exact same on my machine and couldn't play because of the lag. i swapped it for another vid card and it ran great. check out the ati radeon x800 mobility version.

Your video card, like Vecte said, is probably the source of the problem. Another problem could be anything from "your computer needing a break," or too many services that you don't need running in the background. Services are things that just run in the background of your computer while you work, and some are unnecessary. For example, if you are running on a home network, you won't need some services that include recieving messages from a "network administrator," something not present at a home network. Go to the Start menu>Run>Type in servicers.msc in the box, and you should see a list of active/inactive services. If there is a service you think you might not need, rightclick on it and select properties. Click on the General tab, and go to the startup type. Select either Automatic, manual, or Disabled from the list; obviously Automatic means it will start when your laptop is turned on, manual means you must activate it, and disabled means it will not activate. There are also sites where you can find lists of what services you might not need for certain things. www.blackviper.com works for that. ****NOTE: ONLY DO THIS IF YOU ARE WILLING TO TAKE THE RISK OF HAVING TO INSTALL WINDOWS AGAIN IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG. I DON'T TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR COMPUTER, I AM JUST SUGGESTING THAT YOU CAN DO THIS. THERE IS A POSSIBILITY THAT YOU WILL HAVE TO START OVER FROM SCRATCH. Sorry, just don't want to get sued
Another way is just to regularly defrag your hard drive, shut off any background programs that are unneccessary (check your system tray, where the time is located, and shut off any programs you aren't using, like messengers. Don't shut off your firewall...), or, in Guild Wars, go to Options (set to the F11 hotkey by default), and tone down your effects so you can run faster. By effects I mean quality. And sorry I took up so much space with my post.
Edit: I just checked and Blackviper is down. Go to www.archive.org and use the feature "Wayback Machine" to search for an archived copy. You'll search for www.blackviper.com and then the downside is you'll have to look through tons of entries. Have fun
